Design Engineer – Road Works (Civil & Structural)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer specializing in road works for civil and structural projects related to wind farms. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and engineering of roads, hard stands, grading, stormwater drains, and other related infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation and implementation of engineering plans, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
• Prepare a master list of deliverables covering the project scope and facilitate engineering solutions for cost optimization.
• Coordinate with external design consultants to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients and consultants to obtain approvals and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Manage the design and engineering activities, ensuring they are completed within budget and delivered on time.
• Support project teams in understanding and implementing contract specifications, optimizing designs, and addressing site issues.
• Prepare and verify Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure design drawings meet relevant standards and codes.
• Participate in periodic project reviews to address engineering progress and resolve issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• 6 to 10 years of engineering and design experience, particularly in wind farm Balance of Plant (BoP) works.
• Experience in designing gravel, asphalt, and concrete roads as per AASHTO and other international standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in STAAD Pro and knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfraWorks, and Revit.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Experience with engineering projects in the Middle East, Africa, and CIS countries.
• Fluent in English, with excellent reading, writing, and speaking skills.

Technical Expertise:

• Capable of performing design and engineering activities for civil and infrastructure works related to wind farms.
• Knowledgeable in domestic and international design methodologies and standards.
• Experienced in assessing site conditions and ensuring engineering deliverables meet site-specific requirements.
• Proficient in designing various types of roads and detailing buildings, grading, drainage systems, and cabling works.
